+“Drawn to the Word”: Come and join us Thursday, Feb. 22nd at 7 p.m. at the St. Michael Parish Multipurpose Room for a “Drawn to the Word” worship and art experience where Artist and Pastor Paul Oman will paint a larger-than-life-sized mural. A story will unfold artistically, musically, narratively and scripturally during the event. (

+Grieving the Loss of a Child: Directed by Dr. Marcie Moran, this non-denominational program is for adults who have lost a child and are trying to understand and reconcile their grief. The program is designed to be educational and will offer positive suggestions to help people to survive and learn to live fully again. +Annual Empty Bowls Benefit Soup Supper will be Wednesday, March 7th from 5-7 p.m. at O’Gorman High School Cafeteria. Cost is $5 for the meal only, $15 for the meal and pottery bowl, $20 per family (4 or more). All proceeds go to benefit local organizations that take care of the poor and homeless. +“Koinonia” is a weekend retreat designed to help you develop your relationship with God and others. It is built around the death and resurrection of Jesus. +18th Annual Catholic Family Services Gift of Hope ConcertFeaturing Matt Maher, the concert will be Saturday, March 24th at 7 p.m. (one show only!) at the Harrisburg High School Performing Arts Center.
All proceeds benefit Catholic Family Services’ Gift of Hope Fund, which provides support for people of all faiths, ages, and walks in life through their counseling services, grief programs, and adoption services. +Scholarship opportunities: Catholic Daughters Court Mother Teresa will award a $300 scholarship to a graduating senior attending a post-secondary school in fall 2018. The scholarship application deadline is Tuesday, May 1st. Application forms are now available in the Parish Office.

We are pleased to announce that we will once again be accepting applications for Presentation Sisters Catholic School Scholarships. We will be awarding forty K-12 $750 tuition assistance scholarships and three $1,500 high school tuition scholarships for the 2018-2019 school year. Catholic School pastors and principals in the Sioux Falls Diocese have received the application forms for the upcoming school year. +Eucharistic Ministers are needed to bring Communion to patients at Avera McKennan Hospital. This is a unique and rewarding ministry. To become a Eucharistic Minister in the hospital, you may contact Avera McKennan Volunteer Services at 322-7897 or leave a message at the Catholic Chaplains office at 322-7948.

+Walking Rosary is held on the first Friday of every month at St Michael Cemetery (rain or shine) beginning at 10 a.m. Please gather at the Chapel on the west side of the office. When the weather doesn't cooperate, we stay in the Chapel.

 Our St. Katharine Drexel Parish Vocations Committee invites you to pray for vocations, especially for those in our parish who are considering the vocation of priesthood, religious life, or the permanent diaconate. Please join our Vocations Committee in our Chapel for Eucharistic Adoration for the intention of vocations on the first Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and a Rosary for vocations each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m.

 St. Katharine Drexel Parish serves supper at the St. Francis House (1301 E. Austin St.) on    the 3rd Friday evening of each month. Four people are needed to come at 5:30 p.m. to   help  make and serve supper and 3 people are needed to bake goodies for dessert. The    sign-up sheet for March is available in the Gathering Space.

You are invited to join members of our parish at 3 p.m. on Fridays and Sundays in front of Planned Parenthood (6511 W. 41st Street) to pray for a greater respect for all human life from conception to natural death. We pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Rosary and would love to have you join us.
