In response to the growing demand for Catholic Education from the families of the west side of Sioux Falls and surrounding areas, Sioux Falls Catholic Schools and St. Katharine Drexel Parish are excited to announce the opening of a new elementary school! St. Katharine Drexel Catholic School will open its doors beginning Fall 2008 with the following programs:
Preschool: Preschool is an exciting time of significant growth and exploration. The curriculum will address faith and social development, pre-readiness and language skills, fine and gross motor skills, art, technology and music exploration.
- The following preschool options will be available:
- 3-4 year old preschol, Tuesdays/Thursdays, 7:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m.
- 4-5 year old preschool, Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays, 7:45 a.m.-1045 a.m.
- Extended Care and Learning: This program is offered as a service to parents with children in the preschool program. It will be available on site from 10:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at an additional cost. On the opposite days of your child’s scheduled preschool, your child will be able to receive care from 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Elementary: (School hours: 7:45 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.)
- Kindergarten: St Katharine Drexel Catholic School will offer all day, every day kindergarten. Kindergarten students receive a solid academic foundation in a developmentally appropriate format. The components of our kindergarten include: Catholic religion, language arts, mathematics science, social studies and specials, including music, art, physical education, library and technology.
- First Grade: First grade students will embark on a fantastic journey that will heighten their awareness level in all academic areas including their faith development.
- St. Katharine Drexel Catholic School plans to add one grade level per year as the growth of the school continues.
Stretch Club After School Care: As a benefit to St. Katharine Drexel Catholic School parents, Stretch Club After School will be offered for all students on site. This will begin following dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Stretch Club is offered for an additional fee.
