+St. Katharine Drexel Parish Yard Sale: Saturday, July 31st, 7
a.m.-3 p.m. in the parish parking lot; Proceeds benefit our
stained glass window fund. Refreshments will be served,
kids activites--something for everyone!

+Feast of Faith: Thursday, August 5th: "Discernment of
Spirits: Hearing God in our Daily Life" Each day God speaks to
us in all sorts of ways, but if we aren't listening-or don't know
how to listen-we all too often fail to hear Him. At this month's
Feast of Faith, Fr. Shaun Haggerty will talk about the
discernment of spirits, St. Ignatius' method for attuning our
minds and hearts to what God is saying to us in each moment.
Feast of Faith is now held at Cherry Creek Bar & Grill, in the
lower-level banquet room. The presentation begins at 6:30 p.
m. Come early and order a meal and beverage from Cherry
Creek’s menu and stay afterward for conversation &
fellowship.


+Legion of Mary Guest Day will be Friday, August 6th after the
8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary Parish in Sioux Falls. Come and
pray with us and see how we put our faith into action.
Refreshments will be served.

+Annual Knights of Columbus Coaches Roast is scheduled
for Monday, Aug. 9th at KC Hall (315 N Summit Ave). The
evening begins with a social hour at 5 p.m. & dinner at 6 p.m.
The Roast begins about 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 per person and
are sold at the door.

+Grieving the Loss of a Parent: 6 Tuesday evenings from 6:30-
8:30 p.m. Aug. 10th- Sept. 14th at Catholic Family Services,
523 N. Duluth, Sioux Falls. Directed by Dr. Marcie Moran. Call
988-3775 or 1-800-700 –7867 to register. This group is non-
denominational. Cost–Donation. This program is for adults
who are grieving the loss of a parent. The death of a parent
can impact one’s life in a significant way. The program
provides both educational and experiential activities with a
focus on coping responses and re-adjustment to the loss.

+Men’s Spiritual Luncheons with Fr. Jim Mason are held on
the 2nd Wednesday of each month in the Cathedral Parish
Hall from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The next one will be on Aug. 11th.

+Dr. Scott Hahn Conference: Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Aberdeen, SD will be hosting Dr. Scott Hahn, a well-known
Catholic speaker, on Aug. 13th & 14th. He will be giving four
talks on various aspects of the Catholic Church. This event is
open to the public. Registration forms available on the table

+An introduction to Lectio Divina will be presented by Fr.
Scott Traynor on August 17th at Broom Tree. Learn practical
steps for reading Scripture and growing in conversation with

+16th Annual Bishop’s Charity Golf Classic Aug. 22nd & 23rd,
Minnehaha & Westward Ho Country Clubs; Proceeds from
this event support youth, adult and family programs at Broom
Tree Retreat Center. You can participate as a golfer or as a
green or tee sponsor. Also, 400 raffle tickets will be sold for a
trip to the 2011 Masters Golf Event in Augusta, GA.

Please join us at the Planned Parenthood Clinic on the 1st, 10th,
and 15th of each month at noon to pray for an end to abortion. We
also pray there on the 25th of each month at 6:00 p.m. Prayer
makes a difference!
                      The Welcoming Committee is looking for
                      parishioners who are willing to act as a “parish
                      buddy” to new members. If you enjoy meeting

                 Clean and Green Sign Up
We need assistance with our grounds maintenance. Please sign up
on the table in the Gathering Space for mowing, watering trees,
pulling weeds, spraying and trimming. The mowing will be done on
Thursdays at 6 p.m. If that time doesn't work with your schedule,  
other options are available.
Whether it’s a mother with a pacemaker, a son with a heart defect,
or a friend who died of a stroke, most of us have been touched by
heart disease and stroke.  Help fight these deadly afflictions by
becoming a fundraising walker for the
Start! Heart Walk on Sat.,
August 28th at Falls Park. Funds raised benefit the American Heart
Association.

Parishioner and RN Sonya Kooima traveled to Haiti this past May
with a group of nurses to bring aid to earthquake victims. She will be
giving a presentation about her trip and experiences in Haiti on
Tuesday, August 3rd at 7 p.m. in the Gathering Space. Please join
us!
August is our parish's month to supply the Sisters of Perpetual
Adoration
at St. Joseph Cathedral with food and other needed
items. Please pick up a tag from the basket in the Gathering Space
and purchase the items listed. Return the items to the Gathering
Space with the tag attached.
